Our grips are made of a proprietary, industrial grade, high performance material that is specifically designed to provide optimal performance in various weather conditions.
Our grips are designed for the golfer who is more concerned with feel and performance than flashiness. With a superior level of tackiness compared to any competitor and at a close tolerance of +/- 1 gram weight differential, we guarantee you’ll love the consistency of our grips.
The fact that we offer an industry best 3-Year Guarantee that our grips will never get hard or slick, demonstrates the confidence that we have in our product.
Q: What is the significance of the +/- 1 gram weight differential?
A: Most grip companies offer products with a weight differential of +/- 3 to 4 grams. On an average grip weighing 50 grams that would translate into a 12% to 16% weight differential, clearly unacceptable for a golfer looking for precision on the course and exact swing weight from club to club.
It is for that reason that Tour Players use grips that are weighted exactly the same on each club to garner the consistency they need for superior performance on tour.
Why should this only be for professionals? Amateurs need a consistent grip weight on their clubs too. With Star Grip we give you, our customers, that advantage right out of the box.
Your grips are the only connection you have with the club. Shouldn’t that connection be consistent throughout the clubs in your bag?
Q: How often will I need to re-grip my clubs?
A: Nearly all of the major grip companies recommend re-gripping every 6-12 months. Less than optimum quality and tackiness cause grips to get hard and slippery creating the need to re-grip more often.
At Star Grip, we have developed a higher-quality proprietary formula of industrial grade elastomer. You will have the option to re-grip your golf clubs once every three years, and we guarantee it. Your grips will never get hard or slick. This leads to a substantial savings of both cost and time. We don’t believe anyone wants to re-grip their clubs every 6-12 months, and with our grips, you don’t need to!
Q: Can you tell us more about your 3-Year Guarantee?
A: We guarantee that our grips will not get hard or slick, nor will they crack, split, or absorb moisture. We offer this guarantee because we are confident in the quality of the grips we manufacture.
Q. What is the best way to clean a Star Grip?
A. The best way to clean a Star Grip is to use a little soap and water and a scrub brush, if necessary. You will be amazed how the grips return to their original tacky feel.
Q: Are fresh grips really that important for my game? What about tackiness?
A: Having a secure grip on the club is one of the most important factors in golf. If you don’t have a secure grip on the club it will slip in your hands throughout the golf swing (especially at the top of the swing, and then again at impact).
When your grips are hard and slick, your grip pressure is altered. This causes your muscles to tighten up. It throws off your tempo and hinders your freedom of motion, which kills your golf swing.
Having worn grips causes a snowball effect that can turn into an avalanche of frustration and poor play very quickly.
Q: I have arthritic fingers and hands. Which of your grips will suite my game best?
A: For golfers with arthritis, we recommend either our Mid Size or one of our Tour Star models. The Mid Size grip is slightly bigger, making it easier to get your fingers around it.
The Tour Star models are designed for players who prefer a grip that is “built up” in the bottom hand, which can dampen vibrations at the moment of truth…impact.
Q: Can I use either Tape and Solvent or the Air Nozzle to install your grips?
A: Yes, it is true that you can install our grips using Tape and Solvent OR the Air Nozzle; it is your choice. If you choose to use the Air Nozzle, all you’ll need is an air compressor and a nozzle. No more mess and smell, and no more wasted grips because you couldn’t get it on right the first time!
Q: Where are your grips made?
A: Our grips are proudly made in the United States in our factory in Chandler, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. Your visit is welcome. While many of our competitors outsource their grip manufacturing to other countries, we like keeping as many jobs as possible in America.
Our local manufacturing and advanced quality control protocols are key differentiating factors that enable us to provide golfers around the world with a superior product.
Q: Where can I buy your grips?
A: You can buy them from our certified Star Grip distributors or directly from us on our website.
